pointe! magazine began in Fall 2009 with the birth of the Charleston edition. pointe! is a full-color, 40 page, quarterly publication filled with entertaining and stimulating stories, local profiles, community events, and simple just for fun elements.
We intentionally write, create, and design content to stay true and focused on that desire. pointe! is a happy, uplifting publication which will carry a positive take-away message in every piece.
meet the team
It is said that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and we would agree wholeheartedly when it comes to our staff at pointe! (We must admit though - the parts themselves are pretty impressive.) We don’t really do “titles” around here because everyone does whatever it takes to bring you a top-notch publication every quarter, but just to give you a sense of who we are…here is a glimpse of our team.
Mike & Dean Lewis
Mike and Dean are the heart of pointe! magazine. Their passion for reaching women and helping the community pulsates in all they do, bringing life to everyone they touch. Mike and Dean have been married 36 years and have 2 adult daughters, Megan and Macie, both married. They're absolutely in love with their 3 granddaughters. Mike and Dean started Cathedral of Praise with the help of three couples in 1987. Dean wears many hats; she's the creative spark for Cathedral Girlfriends and our pointe! magazine visionary.

Lori Stephanoff
Lori loves to get things done. If pointe! really did have body parts, we'd probably call her the brain or central nervous system because she keeps all the parts of pointe! working together. She's a master communicator and planner and one of pointe!s biggest cheerleaders. Lori and her husband Chris have been married for 26 years and have 2 adult children, Sarah and Josh. She and a team of girlfriends take the cyclone of ideas that pop up during creative sessions and translate those ideas into amazing and innovative girlfriend events at Cathedral of Praise.

Lori likes lists...lots of lists...and striking things off the list. Lover of Starbucks (mocha latte skinny, extra hot, 175 degrees to be exact!)...did we mention that Lori is a detail person?!? Enjoys reading, boating, spending time with family, playing games (her current favorite app: “Words with Friends”) | |  |
Wanda Litchenberg
She's the eyes of pointe! Wanda can spot a typo or an extra space at 50 paces. Her keen gaze pours over pointe! looking for ways to make each issue the best we can offer. She'll breeze in, offering a tweak here, an addition there, an edit up top, a flourish on the corner, a new title or photo suggestion, and so on. She and her husband Jeff have been married for 21 years. Wanda adds a creative flare to everything she does. She says she just dabbles in the arts; but we've seen her dance, sing, paint, play piano, and conduct a small orchestra. And did we mention she has a PhD?

Cindy Van Horn
Cindy's the hands of pointe! You'll see her touch all over pointe! through her contributions editing, writing, researching, and more. Cindy has been married to her high school sweetheart Guy for over half her life and has 3 adult children. (She includes her son-in-law in that count, just because that's what a great mom she is!) Cindy loves opening up her home and being with the next generation; lots of them call her Mom, too.

Sherie LaPrade
Sherie provides the face of pointe! When you look at each issue, the first thing you notice is the beautiful design, layout, and graphics. Sherie has an innate, God-given creativity that simply flows from her. We think she's brilliant. Sherie lives life like she designs – bringing color and life to every page!

Chris Duckett
Chris could well be the ears of pointe! She listens carefully to all of our advertiser needs and creates ads to match their vision. Chris is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, artist, volunteer…and the list goes on. She teaches art and can make you look like an artist, too!

Cara Adams
Cara serves as the arms of pointe! Her marketing ideas stretch far past the norm, reaching women as far as possible. As marketing director, she makes sure the word gets out about pointe! Cara’s can-do attitude keeps her in constant motion! In addition to being married to her sweetheart Jim, they enjoy two adult sons, Jason and Zachary, travel, and spend lots of time together on their boat. Cara's a marketing strategist, world traveler, conference site selection expert, and hotel inspector. And she loves every minute of it!

Madeleine Thomas
We consider Madeleine the feet of pointe! She is the Queen Bee distributor…wherever you have seen pointe!, Madeleine probably put it there. She glides effortlessly with class, grace and a big smile. In Madeleine’s spare time, she runs her own misting fan business with husband Chris. She has recently become a proud grandma (Mimi)!
